And my understanding is that they did a substantial rewrite to insure future sustainability of the program, which probably wasn’t cheap for them. DXO probably had good reason to think many people would happily buy into a commercial, supported program. There was a huge outcry here and other places when Google dropped their support for the program. The facts that they do not offer a discounted upgrade path and are not clear about what you get when upgrading are troubling. Second is that they are keeping the tool alive as the OS and support software evolves. First is that they might be motivated to improve the tool. But by the time I am launching SEP to use the I-point tool, it is less hassle to use the tools in Adobe.īut, if I still found the tools useful, I would be considering the DXO option for a couple reasons. ![]() I can make similar enough selections using other methods, but I would be happy if Adobe or Phase licensed that technology. The u-point technology is quite nice and intuitive to use. I stopped using the programs at a certain point as my skills improved and there were no longer things I couldn’t achieve as well or better in Photoshop. ![]()
